How are products shipped?
All products are shipped via FedEx 2 Day Air or UPS ground. *** All FedEx 2 Day Air shipments require a $30.00 extra hazardous material shipping fee for ELTs with a lithium battery or items with compressed gas cylinders (CO2). *** This extra Haz Mat charge does not apply to UPS ground shipments within the contiguous United States for ELT lithium batteries. However, UPS ground shipments of compressed gas cylinders do require a $20.00 extra Haz Mat fee. ELTs with lithium batteries may also be shipped UPS Ground to Hawaii and Alaska but require a $20.00 extra Haz Mat charge. *NOTE* This extra Haz Mat charge does not apply to PLBs with lithium batteries (the batteries are very small and considered safe for transport). Items shipped UPS Ground to Hawaii travel by ship. The weight under the SKU number of the item is the shipping weight of the item, NOT the actual weight of the item itself.
How long does it take to receive the product?
5-10 business days after the order is placed for UPS Ground and 2 business days for FedEx Air.

How are Personal Locator Beacons programmed?
Personal Locator Beacons will all be programmed for the United States. However, they can be programmed for any country. Just notify us or let us know in the comment section of your order if you would like the PLB to be programmed for another country. Regardless of what country the PLB is programmed for, it will work in any country/place on the planet. This is just a requirement when the PLB is purchased.
Why is there an extra shipping charge for ELT batteries?
There is only a hazardous material shipping charge for ELT batteries that are made with hazardous materials (Lithium being the most common). Most manufacturers are switching to Lithium or similar batteries because they last longer (have a longer shelf life), are very reliable in temperature extremes, are smaller and lighter than conventional Alkaline batteries, and they will transmit for longer periods of time. Due to their hazardous nature, shipping companies charge an extra fee for the extra paperwork and care during shipping. *** This extra shipping charge only applies to shipments via FedEx Air (to all locations) and UPS Ground shipments to destinations in Alaska and Hawaii.***
